By creating an account on Khata AI you agree to what follows. It is written in plain language on purpose.
Khata AI is billing software. It helps you turn bills into GST invoices, calculates tax from the details you give it, and reminds you when GST return deadlines are near.
We are not your accountant, and nothing here is tax or legal advice.
HSN and SAC codes, GST slabs, quantities and rates suggested by the AI are guesses produced by reading a photograph. They are frequently close and sometimes wrong. Every figure is shown to you before an invoice is issued, and you are responsible for checking it. If you file a return based on an unchecked suggestion, that is on you, not on us. When a classification matters, ask a qualified chartered accountant.
Your invoices and customer records are yours. We don't sell them, rent them, or use them to train anything. How we handle them is set out in the privacy policy, including the fact that bill photographs are sent to a third-party AI provider to be read.
Don't use Khata AI to create false or fraudulent invoices, to impersonate another business, to upload anything unlawful, or to attack, overload or probe the service. We may suspend an account that does.
Khata AI is early software offered free of charge. It is provided as it is, without any warranty. We do not promise it will be available at all times, that it will be free of defects, or that a calculation will be correct — see section 2. Features may change or be withdrawn.
Please keep your own copies of anything you rely on. Print or save your invoices as PDFs. We take reasonable care of your data but we cannot guarantee against loss, and GST law requires you to maintain your own books regardless.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, penalties, interest or any indirect loss arising from your use of Khata AI. Because the service is currently free, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us, which is nothing.
Khata AI is free today and there is no paid plan. If paid plans are introduced, we will give existing account holders clear notice by email before anything changes for them, and you will never be charged without agreeing first.
You can stop using Khata AI whenever you like, and can ask us to delete your account by emailing the address below. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or discontinue the service — with reasonable notice where we can give it.
We will update the date at the top when these change, and email account holders about anything significant. Continuing to use Khata AI after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute.
